I’m pretty sure I would lose the ability to function if my blender ever made a decision to randomly stop working on me… which explains why I keep a spare on hand at all right times??

I’m kidding, obviously (well, concerning the bit that is functioning anyway), but I do rely on that thing a whole heck of a lot. And by “a whole heck of a lot,” after all that, my blender currently has over 200 uses for about 4 months on it, and I’ve only had it. That’s some love that is serious there. Either that or an obsession that is serious. It is awesome how perfectly that line could be blurred.

Oh, and that it’s the blender that does the counting prior to go calling me crazy for keeping track of my blends (times I’ve used my blender… not my blogging buddies), I’ll have you know. It additionally whispers sweet nothings into my ear states nice things to me, which I realize isn’t the very best thing to say you of my sanity, but it’s true as We try to convince!

Told you. But we’re going to leave it at that before things begin getting any weirder. Sorry.

So hey! Smoothies. We drink them a good deal like them a whole lot plus. They’re sweet. They’re energizing. They’re full of nutrients. They make a meal that is an awesome snack.

Perhaps you have been aware of Ebony Forest cakes?

The cakes being heavenly combine chocolate, cherries, and whipped cream, and are my absolute favorite cakes of most time? This particular smoothie isn’t just like a piece of that, clearly.

However it does have chocolate, cherries, and whipped cream before taking pictures as I did], so it’s basically the same thing with regards to recipe naming[if you don’t forget to add it. I swear… sometimes coming up by having a title for a recipe is harder than coming up with the recipe that is actual. Plus because this was promoted by the Black Forest cake that we will be having for my fathers birthday this weekend.

Technically speaking, it’s a chocolate cherry chia smoothie… that actually includes a ring that is nice it as well, now that I think about it. Maybe I’ll go back and change it before this post is published by me. We’ll see.

Cherries and cocoa for some awesomeness that is antioxidant. Dates for a kick that is extra of sweetness. Oats for filling fiber. Chia seeds for healthy omega 3’s… essentially lots and plenty of goodness in one ridiculously thick and a smoothie that is creamy. You may also add a scoop of your favorite protein powder you get your greens in if you prefer a little extra oomph, or toss in a few of spinach to assist.

Black Forest Smoothie

Components

  • 1 cup frozen cherries
  • 1 – 2 (15 – 30 g) Medjool times, based on desired sweet
  • 1/4 cup (20 g) rolled oats
  • 1 Tbsp (7 g) chia seeds
  • 2 Tbsp (10 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup (240 ml) unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 scoop (30 g) of your protein that is favorite powder optional)
  • 1 -2 handfuls of child spinach (optional)

Directions

Put all ingredients into any blender that is standard blend until smooth. This smoothie can be built in advance and stored within the fridge for extra creaminess and thickness. The longer it sits, the thicker it gets!

Notes

I love adding oats to my smoothies to make them a creamier that is little “doughier,” but you are able to sub the oats for an additional tablespoon of chia seeds if you’d like this to be grain free.
